Sum of All Thrills Attraction at Epcot

A new ride opens today at Epcot the ‘Sum of All Thrills’ simulator ride. The attraction allows guests to design their own coaster, bobsled or jet plane and then ride their design using a giant robot arm. More info Here

Artist Rendering of Fantasyland Expansion

The rumors of the Fantasyland expansion at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World were officially announced this weekend. The expansion is to take over the area that was once the 20,000 leagues under the sea ride, Ariels grotto as well as most of Mickey’s Toon Town Fair (which does bring up the question will there now be six themed lands instead of seven). The new expansion will focus on the princesses. There will be a Belle area which will also have a new restaurant called “Be Our Guest”. There will also be Cinderella and Aurora areas. One of the biggest new additions will be the Little Mermaid ride. The new ride will be an Omnimover similar to the system used in the Haunted Mansion. The Dumbo ride will also be expanded and moved (near the Barn Stormer ride) and will be a circus themed area. The main princess areas will open in 2012 and Pixie Hollow (which will feature Tinkerbell and friends) will open in 2013.

In an effort to go green Disney plans to cut carbon emissions. As part of the plan they hope to eventually have a net zero carbon footprint at Disney’s offices, theme parks and cruise lines. Read more about the details here. Read More
